iPad Banking app that looks and feels beautiful, while bringing unique clarity to complex data representations.
Rebuilding a mobile banking app for a new market
BBVA Compass is the 15th largest U.S. commercial bank based on deposit market share. The client required a visually rich and functionally top-of-class iPad app to complement their well-regarded online banking system.
Fjord’s Madrid office took on the challenge of adapting and reworking the existing iPad banking app that parent company BBVA Spain had built.
Technology challenges to overcome
Our dedicated Spanish team knew from the start that they would need to consider this challenge both from an end user, and the client’s, point of view.
Additionally, there were challenges in dealing with contrasting banking technology and cultural expectations. Back-end constraints around functionality and security were particularly apparent, with US banking systems displaying significant differences from those in Europe. This needed careful management from Fjord’s team, bearing in mind that banking transaction apps cannot afford to take risks with customers’ cash.
Leading mobile banking service
Fjord’s iPad work represents a real step up for banking apps. Apart from its slick look and feel, it provides customers with excellent all-round functionality.
Compass Mobile gives BBVA’s customers the ability to retrieve balances, review pending transactions, review posted transactions, transfer funds between accounts, find a local branch, and contact the bank. It’s a full-featured mobile banking experience.
BBVA is now a leader in digital banking. Fjord’s BBVA work is part of an ongoing programme that has run since late 2009 and looks to extend well into 2011, and we are pleased to be building a strong partnership.
