Alexander’s entry was awarded the ‘red dot: design concept’ Best of the Best 2008 in the Interaction & Communication category. The ‘red dot award: design concept’ award is given for entire design concepts and ideas that are exceptionally innovative, creative and exciting.
This year’s ‘red dot: design concept’ received 1,906 entries from 49 countries. The entries were judged by a panel of renowned designers and design experts from across the world. The jurors evaluated the submissions based on criteria including degree of innovation, functionality and the formal quality.
The winners were presented the awards in person at the Singapore’s red dot museum in a lush gala ceremony attended by over 400 guests, including design industry luminaries and creators of the 62 winning concepts.
The international ‘red dot design award’ is considered one of the most prestigious awards in the industry, with more than 10,000 submissions from 60 countries. In addition to design concept, awards are given for product design/best design team and communication design.
