The following trends were remarkably accurate and demonstrate Fjord’s strong ability to foresee things to come:
Everyone’s own little Android – Dedicated eReaders continue to go strong. Almost every manufacturer released companion apps for other screens.
Facebook is the people web – Facebook continues their expansion into people’s digital lives with Facebook Like button, Places, Facebook deals, Facebook messaging etc.
The dawn of divergence – Industries have gone head-over-heel over tablets. 20+ devices were announced!
Discovery is the new search – This is on trend, and still very relevant going into 2011. Google released real-time search, discovery and search are standing closer to each other.
Content giants strike back in mobile – Can be debated but content giants are warming up to mobile. Netflix streaming is so popular, cable companies are complaining. Many major magazines made moves to the iPad.
The digital world goes physical – augmented reality (AR) – This is on trend even if AR was not the key driver in Location Based Services (LBS), but retail, for example, is transforming rapidly.
