Another big win for BBC iPlayer on mobile! February 20th 2009 At Fjord, we're committed to choosing only the best, most innovative and groundbreaking assignments. One such project has been BBC iPlayer on mobile. Fjord has been closely involved with BBC iPlayer since its first inception on the web, and in 2008, we helped the BBC extend the concept to the mobile platform. Since then, the service has racked up a whole host of industry accolades, including the 2009 Global Mobile Award's coveted award for best mobile music or video service. The key theme was to encourage a broadening of focus for mobile – from a narrow focus on mobile devices to a broader focus on our increasingly mobile and connected lifestyle. Mobile devices naturally play important roles in our daily life, but if we create services only for the small portable screens we will be missing a trick, and we will unnecessarily restrict the impact of these solutions.

Day 1 - Christian Lindholm at TED Global 2010, Oxford UK July 14th 2010 I am excited to be working at the TED Global conference taking place in Oxford, England on behalf of Fjord this year. TED is a real case study for what can happen when you bring powerful minds into the same room as each other to focus on creative outcomes, and indeed, much of the talk at TED this year has been about how patterns of successful creativity happen through collaboration. Several of the talks have already been underpinned by the idea that creativity and innovation is amplified and more readily achievable as a product of group action.

This has been driven in part by the infographic phenomenon. Social media has increased our ability to share data visualisation content globally.
