Cut&Paste takes Helsinki by storm!

Laura Roberts

Saturday February 4th, the city of Helsinki played host to a Cut&Paste tournament for the first time thanks to Fjord, PLATOON and World Design Capital Helsinki 2012.

There were 160 other World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 weekend events and the temperature was -23 degrees Celsius but 600 visitors crossed the door at Invisible City. A success!

We partnered with Cut&Paste and PLATOON, as part of World Design Capital Helsinki 2012. All parties came together to support the most talented designers in Finland in their battle for the champion title. The audience witnessed inspiring performances by the best VJs and a surprise musical performance by Notic Nastic. The Atmosphere was amazing : the novelty of the concept brought excitement both to designers andthe audience, who equally enjoyed it. The evening concluded with 2D winning title going to Jonathan Ben-Ami, 3D to Robin Grotenfelt, and Motion/Animation to Henrik Axlund! Well done to all. Full results can be seen here.

Cut&Paste founder John Fiorelli said, “It was an honor for Cut&Paste to be part of World Design Capital Helsinki celebrations with Fjord and Platoon. Through our tournament we connected with some of the best emerging design talent in Helsinki and we’re excited to return in the future to meet and showcase more of Finland’s community of designers.”
