The app, available for free from the iPhone store, aims to simplify the traditionally complex and overwhelming process of house hunting, whilst working closely with the existing search functionality – and to fully utilise the iPhone’s technology. called upon the team at Fjord – who have significant experience in delivering beautifully designed, highly integrated multi-platform experiences – to deliver the app. Fjord has created a relevant, elegantly designed and practical brand experience for users, which leverages the iPhone’s full potential whilst delivering an intuitive search facility. The app combines deep consumer insight with a passion and understanding for mobile technology, while breaking new ground in property search.

The key innovative and unique features of the iPhone app include:

  • Use of the iPhone’s GPS and Google Maps API to an unprecedented extent within the field of property search, the app allows users to see all of the properties for sale or rent in a specific locality displayed on a map. This unique feature adds a new dimension to physical property search.
  • The app works seamlessly with the website, allowing users to save searches and sync houses they are interested in with their FindaProperty account on the PC.
  • Recognising that different people look for property in different ways, the application uses the iPhone’s accelerometer functionality to allow a number of different browsing experiences. While using the iPhone at its normal orientation provides detailed technical specifications about the property, turning the iPhone on its side provides a more visual representation of the property.
  • Users can read a full description of each property, before saving favourite properties, emailing them to friends or arranging a viewing.

Chris Liu, Managing Director, Fjord London, said, “We are delighted with the results of our work with The new app has already proved to be very popular and had some great feedback. We wanted to design a simple but elegant solution for people looking for properties on the go – and I feel sure that we have more than achieved that.”

Mark Milner, MD, The Digital Property Group, said, “The new app is already having an impact on people looking for a new home in the UK on the move. The app looks fantastic and has some brilliant functionality – like being able to search from any location and see properties displayed on a map, and then search directions using the GPS device – which will not only save time but will also give house hunters a broader picture of what is available in their search area.”

You can download the application for free from the App Store.
