Trends 2017: From designing for device to designing for environment
For a decade, the smartphone has been the center of our digital universe, resulting in massive changes in terms of how people interact with each other and with the world. Now, we’re starting to see a focus and shift away from mobile technology (which remains the key) to how connectiveness affects the environments in which we spend our time – our homes, cars and cities – and how technology can be used to supercharge them.
We’re seeing this meta theme in two of our Trends this year – World on Wheels and Homes Without Boundaries. Celia Romaniuk, Fjord’s Group Design Director in London, tells us what businesses need to understand about the rise of autonomous vehicles and the shift from the smart home to the helpful home.
