Fjord USA’s first annual Pi Day Pie-Off was a success, and our full bellies can attest to the impressive array of tasty and competitive pies consumed in the quest for East or West Coast victory. Our entries consisted of:

Team San Francisco:

Yvonne’s Green Tea & Nutella Whoopie Pies; Dave’s Classic Whoopie Pies; Livia’s Pear and Pecorino Pie; Shruti’s “I Heart NY” West Indian Chicken Curry Pot Pie; and Sara’s Ricotta and Spinach Pie a la Munday.

Team New York:

Daniel’s Buttermilk Pie and Hyo’s Blueberry Lemon Tart.

While New York scored highly for individual effort, splendid presentation, and overall deliciousness, it was no match for San Francisco’s outstanding team performance with a total of 5 scrumptious entries spanning both savory and sweet. Although it may have lacked in overall “pie-ness” Hyo’s impressive Bluberry Lemon Tart emerged victorious in New York. In San Francisco, Shruti’s flavorful and highly original West Indian Chicken Curry Pot Pie was the favorite by a forkful, just edging out Livia’s innovative Pear and Pecorino beauty.

While Fjord San Francisco has been declared the official 2012 Pie Day Pie-Off victor, our tastebuds can agree that everyone came out a winner in this contest.
