Say ‘hej’ to Fjord Copenhagen!
During the summer of 2016, Fjord has been busy opening a new office in central Copenhagen. Fjord Copenhagen calls Kødbyen, the central and vibrant Meat Packing District their home; In recent years, the area has changed into a new creative cluster with trendy nightlife, galleries, a broad range of quality restaurants and creative businesses. A municipal master plan aims at creating a mixed-use area full of culture, design and inspiration.

Katrine Rau has been appointed Group Director, and she is tasked with starting, growing and nurturing the Danish Fjord studio. Katrine comes to Fjord with experience from Fortune 100 companies, having worked in-house at GE in San Francisco and Copenhagen and helped many industrial industries understand the need for strategic design facilitation when working with big data and technology integration. Prior to GE, she was a design consultant focused on strategy and research for large organizations spanning from healthcare to public sector and consumer retail.
Katrine is keen for the Copenhagen team to stay international and diverse, and bring a mix of the very best Danish and international designers to the Copenhagen studio.
As the team grows they’ll continue to work in close collaboration with their Nordic Fjord Family in Stockholm and Helsinki, as well as Fjord studios around the world. Even though the team in Copenhagen is small at the moment, the collaboration makes it possible to work on large, complex projects pulling on the best service designers from all over the world.
