Telefónica Digital has won one of the most important TV Connect Industry Awards for its groundbreaking Global Video service. Fjord is proud of being the Service Design partner for this innovative multi-screen service.

Celebrating the best of the best in connected entertainment, these awards, now in its 17th edition, took place just a few days ago in Mayfair, London, as part of TV Connect 2013 event. Both trade show and awards are a symbol of respect and recognition within the connected entertainment industry, judged by a prestigious panel of senior and expert individuals. Telefónica Digital was a winner in the Best Multiscreen Service, being recognized as the most innovative above other finalist major services like Virgin Media TiVO and TV Anywhere or China Unicom Tianjin’s WoTV.

In this year’s edition, which reached record numbers in submissions, Telefónica’s achievement in integrated video was highlighted because of its ability to give users fluid, reliable and high-quality access to content across a growing number of screens and devices. Telefónica’s Global Video is an entirely new kind of digital video ecosystems that flows beautifully across any screen, letting customers view their content in ways that best fit into their daily lives.

This cutting-edge service is the result of Telefónica Digital’s Media Services (Global Unit of Video Services in Telefonica Digital) and UX teams hard work over the last years. Fjord is proud to be have been a part of this major breakthrough in multi-screen video as the design partner for the Global Video Services. Fjord team worked along with Telefónica Digital, from the strategic and conceptual level –helping define how the different devices should work together seamlessly and provide the user with complementary, added value information and services- to the specific design of the screens where the video service would be available from.

Telefonica Digital has launched recently this year its IPTV service called “Vivo TV Fibra” and its OTT service named “Vivo Play” in Brazil and it plans to launch them in other countries of Latam and Europe along the year.

As Andy Goodman, Managing Director of Fjord Spain says, “This project, a multi-screen design reference for Fjord, is part of a longstanding collaboration framework with Telefónica Digital, focused on delivering great design in any context, creating unparalleled product experiences that put users first and enhance their lives.

This was the concept video we produced for this project we couldn’t be more proud of!
