Fjord is hoping to again take the stage at SXSW Interactive, joining the brightest minds in technology. We would like to share two talks and a workshop, that span topics from empowering design and the disappearing interface to innovation techniques. Please help us make the stage by voting for our sessions!
“Emerging Tech Empowering Special Needs Users” presented by Peter Burnham and Dave Snowball
Consumer products are designed with an assembly-line mentality, with one product for a broad audience. This approach has left behind those with special needs or disabilities that preclude them from using much of what we have taken for granted, such as completing simple tasks or even the use of touch screens. This talk will explore emerging technology and the evolving ability to personalized interfaces in real-time so services are no longer designed for just the masses.
“Zero UI: the end of the screen based interface” presented by Andy Goodman
It’s hard to imagine a world not dominated by screens, but that may well be where we are heading. And although we are attached to our screens, it seems impossible for the behaviors, habits, devices and interactions we have so rapidly absorbed into the fabric of our lives will not continue indefinitely. In this talk Andy Goodman will explore the new era “Zero UI” where movement, voice, glances and thought can make systems respond to us through our environment.
“Designing the future with Fjord IDEATOR” presented by David Hindman
Breaks out of your conventional thinking patterns through this hands-on workshop designed to generate radically new ideas. Using a framework of extreme scenarios and Fjord’s Trends, our annual publications describing transformative patterns shaping business and society, participants will be empowered to explore the crinkly edges of their imagination where new thoughts and ideas emerge.
