Christine Truc Modica
Group Director, Paris
Christine Truc Modica is an established design research and innovation strategy consultant and the leader of the Fjord Paris studio, where she helps clients transform and grow their businesses, define meaningful products and services, enter new markets, attract new consumers, empower their employees and strengthen their positions and purpose.
Before taking this role, Christine led the Design Research craft for the Fjord EALA region. She has over 20 years of international business experience across a wide variety of industries and has had leadership roles at Fjord Berlin, Frog Design Milano, Sapient Boston, and Sita/Equant in Sophia Antipolis – as well as her own consulting company, Design Strategy Lab. Throughout her career, she has worked for numerous international clients in the US and Europe.
Christine has a Master in Computer Science from ESIEA – Paris, a PEP/MA in Interaction Design from the Royal College of Art in London, and a certification business coach from Transformance Pro – Vincent Lenhardt – Paris. She has served as a visiting professor at Skema Business & Management school in France, CIID in Denmark, the Interaction Design Institute Ivrea (IDII) and Domus Academy in Italy, and she also spent time leading the corporate partnership program at the Sustainable Design School in Nice.
In her role at Fjord, Christine focuses on asking productive questions and pursuing meaningful answers— uncovering what people truly need and want through ethnographic methods. With a bias for action, she strives to make ideas tangible to better learn from them and build the conviction necessary to sustain new thinking.
Having lived and worked in Europe, Asia and North America — and fluent in French, English and Italian — Christine has a deep sensibility for different cultures, as well as a passion for human behavior, and loves the challenge of seeing how culture, context, and business connect. She is also very concerned with sustainability and conscious of the fact that as designers, we are responsible for people, communities and the planet.
During weekends, she can be found sailing on the Mediterranean sea, hiking in the mountains or taking care of her olive trees in Provence, from which she makes her own olive oil.
