Group Director, Washington, D.C.
Michael is passionate about creativity and innovation and is thrilled for the opportunity to infuse these elements into his role as Managing Director and Lead for Accenture’s Federal Digital Studio.
Michael holds a B.A. in Government from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. He joined Accenture Interactive in in 2010 and AFS at the end of 2015 after spending more than 20 years in sales and marketing. He has worked on global brands such as Coca-Cola and AOL, and with telecom, consumer products, financial services and energy clients.
Michael considers himself fortunate to be at the vanguard of digital pacesetters, and as a thought leader in Design Thinking, Design Doing, and Design Culture, he drives the implementation of human-centered design as a catalyst for change in business approaches and services at both government agencies and commercial enterprises.
Michael’s wife asserts that, from a personality standpoint, he is either on or off – there is no dimmer switch! – and that passion translates into his personal and professional lives. After getting pulled into Odyssey of the Mind in Loudoun County, VA, to support his two kids, he spent eight years helping teach more than 15,000 kids creativity through structured problem solving. This experience dovetails well with his current focus: leading a team of more than 50 designers, strategists, marketers and developers to help them excel in the digital landscape. Michael appreciates the fact that every day presents new ways to indulge his creative zeal as he works with his team to collaborate on transformative end-to-end solutions for clients’ unique challenges and, ultimately, change millions of lives for the better.
