Managing Director, Design Strategy
Nandini (Nan) believes that design has the power to create magic moments that enable humans to feel accomplished and experience delight, whether at work or at play. She is driven to enable clients to have the vision, courage and confidence to step up to the promise of digital.
As a new member of Fjord’s leadership team, Nan will focus on creating design service models that bridge data and design, helping to realize the promise of measurable and sustainable business outcomes through design.
With a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology, the design of human-computer interaction (HCI) is a natural fit for Nan.
Nan’s first job after graduate school was at an R&D Lab at Hewlett Packard as a Human Factors Engineer, which led to various adventures in HCI. While gaining experience in designing user interfaces for employee-facing knowledge and workflow systems, and consumer facing digital interaction points, she had the opportunity to build and lead large UI teams; bridge business and technology perspectives to become user centric, and learn the art of analytical decision making to drive outcomes from design. Along the way she had the opportunity to work closely with design teams at firms like IDEO, Frog Design, R/GA, and others. While at HP, she grew to become the Senior Director for Digital Experience Strategy and Analytics driving user experiences for a range of HP’s global digital services.
Nan first met Accenture as a client while leading digital transformation for global HP.com. Impressed with the focus on analytical decision-making and business outcomes at Accenture, she decided to cross over in 2010. Her initial focus with Accenture Interactive was on Digital Marketing Strategy and Performance Optimization using innovative consumer intent-based approaches combined with multivariate experimentation to drive relevant search experiences at clients like Verizon. In 2014, she was Global Lead for Accenture Interactive’s Customer Experience and Social Practice, a significant growth area for Accenture.
Nan joins Fjord, to help lead the on-going success of client engagements and the strategic direction of programs with an eye towards design with data.
Nan is passionate about women’s issues. She mentors young women and actively supports microfinance as a method to empower disadvantaged women.
When Nan is not orchestrating digital strategy and design programs, she loves to travel with her husband and two sons: she has stood at the highest motorable mountain pass in the world, climbed the Sydney Harbor bridge, and zip-lined in the cloud forests in Costa Rica, among other adventures. She firmly believes that life is about creating memorable moments with family and friends, and is always planning her next party, vacation, or event.
