Group Director, Helsinki
A native of the United Kingdom, Tim has lived in Finland since 2011, joining Fjord Helsinki in January 2013. As Group Director, he has the overall responsibility for the Helsinki studio. He is passionate about creating a fun and rewarding place to work that enables the designers to grow in the ways they want and provides exciting and innovative projects that have real impact in the world.
Tim has a very strong background in technology and business consulting, with a career spanning over 22 years and multiple technology and process disciplines. He has worked in top global consultancies, such as Accenture and Capgemini, excelling in selling and delivering complex transformational change programs and projects, as well as leading, motivating and coaching large teams. Before joining Fjord, Tim successfully orchestrated two of the largest digital transformation programs in the history of Marks & Spencer in London.
With 16 different nationalities, Fjord Helsinki is a melting pot of cultures that Tim leads and drives forward with unswerving energy and insight based in part on his own experience of being a newcomer in Finland. Tim’s “Fjord family” is a great motivator in his daily work, as he puts it, working alongside friendly and open people who want to make the world a better place and have a natural desire to solve problems makes Fjord Helsinki an inspiring place to be.
As a family man with two young children, most of Tim’s free time revolves around his family. He has enthusiastically embraced the Finnish traditions of sauna and summerhouse, fleeing the city for the countryside on weekends whenever possible. True to his engineering background, Tim’s hobby (and guilty pleasure) is hi-tech and gadgets: if not buying them or tinkering with his home network, he is most likely reading about the newest innovations.
