As an Industrial Designer in Berlin, you will develop visions, define strategies and concepts for tangible products and interaction touch points. You will play at the intersection of technology, brand, the user, and the environment.

Basic Qualifications


As a Senior Industrial Product Designer, you will:

  • Design end-to-end solutions; from identifying user needs and generating experience concepts to defining product aesthetics, requirements, and interaction principles.
  • Communicate product and experience concepts with skills of a designer – sketching, user journey mapping, 3D modeling and rendering, prototyping, and testing.
  • Lead the detailed definition of product interaction touch points, to a high level of fidelity and with a focus on implementation.
  • Argument design decisions with clarity, guiding and consulting our clients in decision-making processes.
  • Ensure the quality of all product design deliverables on a project.
  • Contribute to business development, proposal writing, client pitch efforts and/or expert point of views.
  • Engage in community events, workshops, and conferences as a Fjord Design Ambassador.
  • Closely collaborate with creatives from the field of research, business, service, interaction, and visual design.


Your experience:

  • A degree and 6+ years working experience in Industrial/Product Design.
  • You’ve worked in multidisciplinary teams and projects and you have a good understanding or additional skills in the fields of Interaction Design, Visual Design, Service or Business Design.
  • Proven experience in defining, creating and implementing design solutions for cross-industry clients, translating business and user requirements into compelling multi-touchpoint product experiences.
  • You´re a hybrid creative who leverages interdisciplinary design skills to create tangible design solutions. You see physical products as part of broader ecosystems.
  • You possess knowledge and experience in strategic design research and user-centered design processes.
  • High dexterity in speed and quality with the tools of your trade such as Adobe CS, Rhinoceros/Solidworks, KeyShot, Blender and more.
  • Extensive experience in running on- and offline workshops on strategic product design and development with colleagues, clients and technology partners.
  • Passion for prototyping; from rapid low fidelity (ergonomic, Paper, or 3D print) to fully interactive and esthetically refined.
  • You possess an affinity for technology, and you are skilled in translating this into product conception and design solutions.
  • Optimism, transparency, diplomacy, curiosity and a healthy pragmatism are at the core of your professional attitude.
  • You are equally autonomous as you are a team player. You possess excellent English communication skills, with German knowledge as a bonus.

  • Know-How in the areas of product connectivity, sustainability, or material science is a highly valued asset
  • You are an eloquent and powerful public speaker and presenter
  • Strong illustration and modeling skills
  • Asset & Motion Design skills
